Dr Eddie Cheng is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon with over 20 years of experience in plastic surgery procedures. He is an Australian-trained surgeon who obtained his undergraduate medical degree from the University of Queensland in 1996.  He is the founder and director of AR Plastic Surgery, located on The Wesley Hospital campus in Auchenflower, Brisbane. Dr Cheng is a consultant plastic surgeon and a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) within the plastic surgery department at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he has cared for patients since he began his internship there in 1996. He has been appointed as a consultant plastic surgeon at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital since 2008.

  • Chair, Plastic Surgery Craft Group, The Wesley Hospital: Dr Cheng leads this group in advancing surgical standards, clinical education, and research. He also contributes to the hospital’s strategic planning and quality initiatives through the Medical Advisory Committee.

Extensive Experience and Qualifications

With over two decades of experience, Dr Cheng’s medical journey began with his undergraduate training at the University of Queensland in 1996. He completed his specialist plastic surgery training in Brisbane and Melbourne, gaining a comprehensive skillset across a wide range of procedures. His qualifications include:

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS): 2008.
  • Specialist Registration: Dr Cheng holds specialist registration with the Medical Board of Queensland (AHPRA).
  • Professional Memberships: Member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Aesthetic Society (America) and The Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons Society of Queensland.
